Mego-Style Venture Bros!

I am sooooooooo all over these. I’ve been waiting on Venture Bros figures forever!

Go Team Venture, or rather go retro! In a press release that was first shown on The Mego Museum blog, Bif Bang Pow revealed that their upcoming figures based on the popular Adult Swim cartoon will be done in the same style of those vintage 8-inch Mego action figures from the 1970’s.Several other franchises are also getting the Mego treatment including “Lost” and “Dexter”.

Each figure will include real fabric clothing and plastic accessories and the first wave of figures are expected to hit this summer. The prototypes will be revealed for the first time ever at Toy Fair NY 2010, and Tomopop just happens to be covering the show in two weeks, so stay tuned for that!

The Venture Bros.™ creator Jackson Publick, who has been working closely with Bif Bang Pow! to bring these to market, noted that the upcoming figures are “very impressive and extremely faithful to the characters, while also finding a very comfortable middle ground between 2-D and 3-D design. Bif Bang Pow! has deftly solved a number of design problems I thought anyone attempting a 3-D interpretation would get thrown off by. Brock, especially, is going to make the fanboys crap themselves. Let’s show these to the world already!”
